ARCC campus is a good network for students to play “Pokemon Go” with friends or whenever you need to kill some time.
Pokemon GO was all the talk this summer upon its release in July. It became insanely popular because people of any age can enjoy playing it. “Pokemon Go” is Pokemon’s latest release. It was developed for Android, iOS, and Apple Watch devices.
The game connects with your GPS capability so you can catch and battle Pokemon anywhere you please, even the ARCC campus. There are multiple Pokestops around campus where players can collect items to help them along their journey.
There is one gym on campus located at the back door by the bookstore where players can battle each other and takeover the gym by defeating the opposing team. There are three teams you can play as Valor(red), Mystic(blue), and Instinct(yellow). “The gym is always taken over by team mystic” said ARCC student Tony who is a member of team valor.
You can catch Pokemon by walking around campus. The Pokemon will show up on your screen as your GPS detects them. Most Pokemon found on campus are basic and common, but there is a chance you can find the certain Pokemon you are looking for.
“I’ve spotted a Poliwhirl and multiple Staryu while playing outside.” says ARCC Pokemon Go player Joseph who likes to walk along the river and catch Pokemon. The GPS factors in your surroundings as you move, which is how it detects when you are near water.
The ARCC campus can be a great place to play “Pokemon Go” between classes. Next time you find yourself bored on campus why not battle someone in the poke gym to seek that revenge you were longing for or search for new Pokemon you never know what will pop up in front of you.
