The Anoka-Ramsey Women’s Basketball team used a big fourth quarter rally to come from behind and top the M|State Fergus Falls Spartans on Wednesday evening.

In a back-and-forth affair, the Golden Rams got the final push to win 69-65.

Anoka-Ramsey led 22-12 after the first quarter, and by as many as 14 points in the second quarter before the Spartans used a 12-0 to end the first half down just two points.

The run extended to 16-0 after M|State scored the first four points of the third quarter to take a 32-30 lead.

Anoka-Ramsey tied the score, but M|State would start to pull away and lead by 13 at the end of the period.

Still trailing by 12 with seven minutes to go, the Golden Rams pulled with 61-56 at the four minute mark.  M|State maintained the lead and held a 65-60 advantage with two minutes to go.

Sydney Kehr would score to cut the Golden Ram deficit to three, followed by a bucket from Hailey Babcock to pull within one.  After a Spartan timeout, Anoka-Ramsey forced a turnover and CeCe Bell knocked down a three with under a minute left to give Anoka-Ramsey the lead.

M|State missed a three on their next possession and Babcock sealed the win with two made free throws.

Anoka-Ramsey was led in scoring by Babcock with 19 points, followed by Kehr (16) and Bell (14).

The Golden Rams forced 24 turnovers and won despite M|State going 25 for 37 on free throws compared to just 9 of 13 for Anoka-Ramsey.

Anoka-Ramsey snaps a three-game losing streak and improves their record to 13-5, 4-4 in the MCAC Southern Division.  The Golden Rams will travel to Minnesota West on Saturday, February 5.
