The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Golden Rams swept their season opening doubleheader against DCTC on Friday, March 3, by the scores of 4-1 and a 7-0 mid-game forfeit.

Game one was tied 0-0 going into the top of the 3rd when the Golden Rams manufactured a run on a walk from Emma Bright along with two stolen bases and a throwing error. The game stayed 1-0 until the top of the 5th when ARCC put together two singles by Emma Hurd and Hailey Babcock and then a monstrous 3-run home run by Lyla Galli to give the Golden Rams a 4-0 lead.

The team could only muster seven hits but three of those came from Hurd along with three stolen bases. Molly Gross picked up her 1st win of the season in the circle striking out 10 and only allowing 4 hits.

Game two started out as a back-and-forth battle early with both teams taking a share of the lead until the bottom of the 3rd inning when the Golden Rams put up four runs highlighted by a two-out bases loaded single by Gross.

The team led 5-4 in the top of the 4th inning when DCTC had an injured player and was unable to finish the game due to not having 9 healthy players. This then resulted in the game being stopped an Anoka-Ramsey was awarded a 7-0 forfeit.

The Golden Rams are now 2-0 on this young season. They begin their Florida spring trip on Friday, March 10 when they will play 11 games in five days before returning back home to play in the M-Health Fairview Dome at the National Sports Center on Monday, March 20.
