The Anoka-Ramsey Women’s Basketball team suffered significant injuries in the second half to derail a promising game against MN West on Sunday afternoon.

Holding a double-digit second half lead, Golden Ram guard Mikayla Kanenwisher went down with an arm injury, followed shortly by a head injury to Sydney Kehr and Anoka-Ramsey was down to five available players.

MN West subsequently used a 14-0 run to tie the game and went on to beat the Golden Rams 76-64.

Prior to the injuries, Anoka-Ramsey controlled the game against the taller Lady Jays, forcing turnovers and scoring inside and out.

Kimori Morris added 17 points on 7 of 12 shooting.

Anoka-Ramsey forced 23 turnovers but were outscored 17 to 7 on free throws and got outrebounded 48-39.

The Golden Rams fall to 12-4, 2-2 in the MCAC.  Due to the injuries Anoka-Ramsey does not have enough healthy players to play on Wednesday vs. Rochester.  The game will be rescheduled for a later date.
