The Anoka-Ramsey Men’s Basketball team fought through a physical matchup with crosstown rival Dakota County Tech on Tuesday evening, but ultimately fell 77-68.

The Golden Rams shot a season-low 38.9 percent overall and just 29.2 percent from three (7 of 24), while also committing a season-high 22 turnovers.

Anoka-Ramsey led 7-3 early but the Blue Knights went on a 9-0 to take a 12-7 lead.

Jacob Say connected on a three to retake the lead 24-23 but the Blue Knights used a 7-2 spurt to go up 30-26 before settling on a 34-33 lead at the break.

DCTC bulit a 47-36 lead early in the second half before the Golden Rams began chipping away.

Two Say free throws cut the deficit to five with 10:37 to go, and a three-point play from Manny Jingco pulled Anoka-Ramsey within three with 7:31 left.

But a 5-0 DCTC run provided some cushion for the Blue Knights.

A final push got Anoka-Ramsey back within five points with 5:36 to play but the Golden Rams could get no closer.

Say scored 19 points on 5 of 13 shooting and 6 of 8 free throws while adding five assists.

Jingco scored 16 points on 5 of 9 from the field and a perfect 5 of 5 on free throws to go with seven rebounds.

Albert Tinnel had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Anoka-Ramsey falls to 3-2 on the season and will embark on their first road trip of the season traveling to Hibbing on Friday and Rainy River on Saturday.
