Women's Basketball Sweeps Northern Division Opponents

The Anoka-Ramsey Women’s Basketball team swept MCAC Northern Division foes Rainy River and Northland last weekend.

On Saturday afternoon the Golden Rams defeated Rainy River 90-39 behind a balanced scoring attack.

Five players scored in double figures led by Toni Williams with 18 points on 8 of 11 field goals.

Janae Arnoldi (13), CeCe Bell (12), Kimori Morris (12), and Mikayla Kanenwisher (11) each scored double figures as well.

Arnoldi added 12 rebounds, and Morris had a solid all-around game with six rebounds, six assists, and four steals.

Anoka-Ramsey shot 47.1 percent overall and made 10 of 26 threes (38.5 percent).

On Sunday, the Golden Rams faced a short-handed Northland squad and came away with a 92-47 victory.

Anoka-Ramsey started fast in taking a 20-4 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.

Northland shot just 29.7 percent overall while the Golden Rams connected on an outstanding 60.3 percent of their shots and 11 of 20 from three.

Bell led all scorers with 22 points on 7 of 11 shooting including 4 of 6 from three.

Williams added 16 points off the bench making 8 of 10 field goals.

Arnoldi had 15 points, and Kanenwisher had 11 to go along with seven assists.

Anoka-Ramsey is 4-0 on the season
