The Anoka-Ramsey Men’s Soccer team avenged their only loss of the season by beating Dakota County Tech 3-2 in extra time.

Mohamed Qaid scored in the 5th minute to give the Golden Rams an early lead, but the Blue Knights responded with a goal to tie the score 1-1 at halftime.

DCTC knocked a ball into the back of the next in the 70th minute to take a 2-1 lead.

With the regulation starting to wind down Jafaar Abdulrahman scored the equalizer and the teams entered extra time where Claudy Zau scored the game winner off an assist from Martin Garr.

“This was an interesting game for us,” said head coach Qassim Ilmi.  “I thought our boys played very well and had about 70 percent possession.  We struggled in the final third to get goals and DCTC was very clinical and put away any chance they got.  Anytime we are down a goal or two our boys find a way to comeback.”

Anoka-Ramsey improves to 5-1-1 overall.
