The Anoka-Ramsey Volleyball team hosted the MCAC Crossover Tournament August 26-27, playing in four matches themselves.

The Golden Rams went 0-4 but showed progress to open the season.

Their first match against Alexandria saw the Golden Rams stay competitive in the first set falling 27-29 before Alex took control and won the next two sets 17-25, 14-25.

Mikayla Grandaw had 11 digs, with Maggie Kohl and Sophia Rondeau each recording seven kills.

In the second match Anoka-Ramsey once again battled tough losing the first two sets 21-25 and 20-25 before dropping the third 11-25.

Aliyah Gordon had a .308 hitting percentage with Rondeau once again leading the team in kills with seven.

Grandaw had 21 assists.

On Day 2 of the tourney, the Golden Rams opened against Northland, falling 3-1.  The Pioneers took the first two sets 21-25, 13-25 before Anoka-Ramsey pulled out a 25-23 win in the third set.  Northland took control again in the fourth winning 25-11.

Rondeau hit .320 with 12 kills.  Grandaw had 28 assists.

The final match of the tournament had Anoka-Ramsey facing Iowa Lakes, and the Golden Rams won the first set 25-20 before dropping the last three sets.

Grandaw had 34 assists.  Rondeau and Emma Ogren each had 18 digs, and Kohl hit .296 for the match.

Anoka-Ramsey drops to 0-5 on the season.
