The Anoka-Ramsey Men’s Basketball team went into double overtime with Western Tech, but fell 103-101 to conclude the regular season.

The Golden Rams put up 100 points or more for the third time in the last five games.

Both teams battled back and forth throughout the first half with neither team holding a lead of more than four points.

Western Tech went ahead 65-59 with 8:17 to play in regulation and still held a five point lead with 5:19 to go before Anoka-Ramsey rallied.

Daydor Phillips tied the score at 75-all with 3:30 left, and two Devin Wade-Henderson free throws put Anoka-Ramsey up by one with two minutes to play.

After Western Tech went back up by three, Phillips scored again to pull within one with 43 seconds to go.  Anoka-Ramsey got a stop on the defensive end, and Terrell Fountain was fouled with five seconds to play making one of two free throws to put the game into overtime.

In the first OT, Wade-Henderson made two free throws with 11 second left to tie the score and send the game into a second OT.

The Cavaliers went up by three with a minute to go until a Fountain layup got Anoka-Ramsey back within one.  Western Tech made one of two free throws with six seconds to play, but a turnover on the ensuing inbounds sealed the game.

Wade-Henderson scored 31 points and pulled in an astonishing 28 rebounds, 12 on the offensive end.

Jacob Say scored 25 points making six threes.

Phillips finished with 17 points, while Fountain added 11.

Anoka-Ramsey finishes the season 14-13 overall and is the #4 seed from the South in the NJCAA Region XIII Tournament, facing Rainy River on Friday, February 25.  Full tournament details can be found at the link below.
