The Anoka-Ramsey Men’s Basketball team had Riverland on the ropes for the first 35 minutes before a late run pushed the Blue Devils past the Golden Rams 82-74.
Anoka-Ramsey led 66-64 with just over five minutes to play, but a 10-0 Riverland run over the next three minutes allowed the league-leading Blue Devils to escape with the win.
The Golden Rams shot 47.5 percent overall and made 12 of 15 from the free throw line – but three-point shooting was the primary difference as Riverland knocked down 10 shots from deep compared to six for Anoka-Ramsey.
Chaz Franklin scored 22 points in the loss.
Ibrahim El-Amin scored 19 points, 15 in the first half.
Micah Adkins tallied 13 points.
Anoka-Ramsey falls to 11-13 overall, 5-6 in the MCAC Southern Division. Anoka-Ramsey is still in contention for a playoff spot as they sit in a three-way tie for third in the Division, with the top four teams extending their seasons.
