The Anoka-Ramsey Women’s Basketball team fell 69-63 to Minnesota West on Saturday afternoon in their first MCAC action of the season.
The Golden Rams led 41-31 at halftime, but the Lady Jays scored the first nine points of the third quarter to cut the deficit to one, and took a 45-44 lead with three minutes to go in the period.
Minnesota West extended their lead to eight points, 61-53 midway thru the fourth and the Golden Rams were only able to get within four points the rest of the way.
Anoka-Ramsey shot just 33.3 percent overall, while Minnesota West connected on 43.1 percent overall and made 21 free throws to just 11 for the Golden Rams.
Alex McNeill scored 31 points for Anoka-Ramsey. Alani Pettis tallied 15 points and eight rebounds, with Bella Kanz adding ten points and nine rebounds.
Anoka-Ramsey drops to 12-3 overall.
