The Anoka-Ramsey Men’s Basketball team fought back from an early deficit, but ultimately fell 81-67 on Saturday afternoon to Minnesota West.
The Golden Rams trailed by 25 points in the first half before an 11-0 run pulled them back within 14.
Minnesota West extended the lead back over 20 in the second half, but Anoka-Ramsey battled back to within nine points with a chance to make it a two-possession game. A missed three from the Golden Rams, followed by a made three from the Bluejays put what could have been a six point deficit back to 12 points and extinguished any run by Anoka-Ramsey.
The Bluejays shot 51.7 percent overall, including 11 of 24 (45.8 percent) from the three-point line and made 10 of 11 free throws.
The Golden Rams shot just 39.3 percent and 7 of 28 from three (25 percent).
Khadeem Thomas scored 17 points to go with six rebounds.
Jamal Woods tallied 16 points, and Albert Tinnel IV scored ten points.
Anoka-Ramsey falls to 10-7 overall, 1-1 in the MCAC Southern Division.
The Golden Rams host M|State Fergus Falls on Wednesday at 7:30pm.
