The Anoka-Ramsey Men’s Basketball team started 2025 on a high note, picking up two wins vs NJCAA DIII programs, first over Central Community College (NE) 76-74, then over Dakota County Tech 73-71.
In the win over Central the Golden Rams trailed by 15 in the second half before rallying to tie the score. Albert Tinnell IV made two free throws with under two seconds to play for the win.
Jamal Woods scored 24 points to go with seven rebounds. Tinnell finished with 16 points, nine rebounds, and six assists.
Khadeem Thomas made his season debut with 14 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds.
Stewart Jones tallied 11 points off the bench.
Anoka-Ramsey was 20 of 24 from the free throw line.
The Golden Rams followed up that victory with a win over DCTC, who had beaten Anoka-Ramsey 64-59 earlier in the season.
Anoka-Ramsey shot 48.3 percent overall and forced 17 Blue Knight turnovers.
Woods again led the way with 22 points. Tinnell scored 18 points to gow with nine rebounds and seven assists.
Thomas scored 17 points on 7 of 11 shooting while dishing nine assists.
Anoka-Ramsey tallied 26 assists on 28 made field goals.
The Golden Rams finish non-conference play with a 9-6 overall record, and will travel to Ridgewater on Wednesday for their first MCAC Southern Division game of the season.
