The Anoka-Ramsey Men’s Basketball team kept their postseason tournament hopes alive thanks to a 85-76 win over M|State Fergus Falls on Wednesday evening.
Anoka-Ramsey is in a tie with Ridgewater for the fourth and final playoff spot, and now sit one game ahead of M|State while holding a tie-break over the Spartans thanks to a season sweep in their two matchups.
The Golden Rams will likely need to reach eight league wins to avoid a tie-break scenario and are 5-5 with four games to play.
Anoka-Ramsey built a 18 point halftime lead, but the Spartans rallied to pull within three points with six minutes left in the game.
A 10-2 run over the next four minutes kept M|State at bay and timely free throw shooting allowed the Golden Rams to stay in the lead.
Anoka-Ramsey shot 27 of 34 from the free throw line and held a 45-36 edge in rebounds.
Micah Adkins scored 23 points on 8 of 18 shooting and 7 of 8 free throws to go with nine rebounds.
Chaz Franklin and Ibrahim El-Amin each scored 15 points with Franklin adding eight rebounds.
