The Anoka-Ramsey Athletic Department has announced the addition of Co-Ed Clay Target to their sports offerings beginning with the 2024-25 Academic Year.
In addition, Chris Johnson has been hired as the Head Clay Target Coach for the Golden Rams.
Anoka-Ramsey will participate in the Minnesota College Athletic Conference, and the Clay Target program will be based on the Cambridge campus.
“Clay Target is an emerging sport within Minnesota and the region. We’re excited to add our first co-ed sport at Anoka-Ramsey and feel Clay Target will be a great fit on our Cambridge campus,” said Director of Athletics Jessica Pelzel.
Chris Johnson has been the Cambridge-Isanti High School trap coach since 2013 and will continue to operate in that role along with heading up the Golden Rams. Coach Johnson also teaches at Cambridge-Isanti High School, and is a 1999 graduate of Anoka-Ramsey Community College along with earning degrees from the University of Minnesota and College of St. Scholastica.
