The Anoka-Ramsey Women’s Basketball team used a stifling defense to take down Western Tech on Wednesday night 87-16.
The Golden Rams held Western to 23.1 percent shooting, 2 of 10 from three, and forced 46 turnovers, 28 of which came on steals.
Five Anoka-Ramsey players finished with double figures in scoring led by Delana Washburn with 20 points on 6 of 9 shooting from three.
Jordan McMahon and Bella Kanz each had 15 points, with McMahon pulling in 13 rebounds, and Kanz eight boards all on the offensive end.
Makayla Holten tallied 14 points on 6 of 10 shooting.
Alani Pettis flirted with a triple-double getting 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 steals.
Anoka-Ramsey shot 39.3 percent overall but pulled down 34 offensive rebounds.
The Golden Rams improve to 15-3 overall, 3-1 in the MCAC Southern Division.
The schedule turns more difficult in the coming weeks with three of the next four games on the road vs other top MCAC Southern Division teams, and a home tilt with #1 ranked Rochester.
