The Anoka-Ramsey Men’s Basketball team battled back from a second half deficit, then held on to beat M|State Fergus Falls 76-74 for their third straight MCAC win on Wednesday evening.
The Golden Rams 56-44 with just under 12 minutes to play in the game, and looked like they would suffer their first conference defeat, before embarking on a 13-2 run to pull back within one point.
After a Spartan basket, Anoka-Ramsey then went on a 11-2 run to lead by six with 2:51 to play.
M|State tied the score at 73, but a big three from J’Son Saeed’El with 44 seconds to go broke the tie and handed the Golden Rams the win.
Anoka-Ramsey forced 22 turnovers to offset a 51-32 edge in rebounds by the Spartans.
Ibrahim El-Amin scored 14 points to go with four assists.
Saeed’El scored 13 points making 5 of 10 from the field and adding five steals.
Derrick Love scored 12 points on 5 of 8 shooting.
Dominick Love tallied 11 points, and Chaz Franklin added 10.
Anoka-Ramsey improves to 9-7 overall, 3-0 in the MCAC Southern Division.
