After splitting their two games on Sunday, the Golden Rams took the field again on Monday, losing both of their games.

Their first game saw them take on Parkland College, a Division 2 scholarship school. The Golden Rams competed hard but ultimately could not score any runs, and had trouble keeping Parkland from getting on base. Hailey Babcock recorded the lone hit for the Golden Rams, which was a double. Lyla Galli drew the only walk for the Golden Rams. The Golden Rams would go on to lose 9-0 in five innings. Pitcher Lyla Galli struck out one while allowing seven hits. She moves to 1-2 on the year following this match.  Anoka-Ramsey moves to 3-5 on the year with this loss.

The Golden Rams did not fair much better in their second game when they took on Iowa Central in a rematch. On Sunday, the Golden Rams fell to Iowa Central 7-1. The Golden Rams did a little bit better behind the plate, as they recorded 4 total hits. Emma Bright and Hailey Babcock each had a double. Molly Gross was the starting pitcher who recorded the loss, moving to 0-2 on the year before ultimately giving way to Sunny Strait. The Golden Rams would go on to drop this game 9-1 in five innings.

While it was an overall rough day for the Golden Rams, Coach Dave Alto thought the team competed hard but, “the teams that we played were just too good. I’m looking forward to finishing our trip strong tomorrow.”

The Golden Rams will likely play two games today, on Tuesday, before returning home to Minnesota.

The Golden Rams are now 3-4 in Florida and 3-6 on the year after Monday’s games.
