Runway trends can be a bit out there when it comes to actually wearing them day to day. With this year’s trends coming in hot, here are some simple ways to make the trends work with your everyday wardrobe.

1. Frocking Pink According to Vogue, the “Frocking Pink” is a major trend this coming spring. Designers such as Balenciaga and Céline came out with dresses that were a softer pastel pink, and then Givenchy and Bottega Veneta had the other side of the color spectrum with deeper pinks like magenta and raspberry.
Pink may seem too “girly” and is a harder color to incorporate into your everyday looks.
Try pairing a soft pink baby doll dress with a jean jacket or wearing a soft pink dress with a pair of black tights, printed or plain, and some cute booties.
2. Let’s talk about stripes, baby.
These are a huge trend and rarely leave the fashion world. This spring the bigger stripes the better. They’ve been described as looking sportier.
One way to take on this look is similar to Louis Vuitton’s take on this trend with a chunky black and white striped blouse or dress. It’s a classic look that can work for any event.
3. Graphic Tees
One of the trends that is big this season is fashion for the on-the-go college students. Graphic tees are a fun component of this trend.
The graphics that were shown on the runway over the past couple of months have a more controversial side to them.
Barragán’s tee had the television show “Friends” font but with “Lesbian” across the front and Hood By Air’s shirt had “Hustler” printed over the front.
Try matching a graphic tee with either mom jeans and converse, or even a skirt and an oversized cardigan.
4. White Everything
Wearing white after Labor Day? Why yes, white everything is a big one this spring.
Not just white, but ivory and cream are the other two that have come into play. Even though there were mostly dresses spotted on the runway with this trend you can change that into a flowy white shirt with bright dress pants or even denim.
5. Wallpaper Florals
As Miranda Priestly from “The Devil Wears Prada” would say, “Florals for spring? Groundbreaking.”
These florals are different though, in the designer’s defense. Wallpaper florals are all the rave from Michael Kors matching dress and handbag, to Isabel Marant’s ’80s floral long sleeve blouse.
This one can be both complex and simple to style. Try wearing a floral summer dress underneath a big jean jacket.
With all of these fresh ideas embedded in your head, hopefully you can jump into the deep end and strut one of these trends this spring.
